KEAM 2019: Allotment Result, Choice Filling (Started), Counselling Date, Process
KEAM, abbreviation for Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical is an entrance examination series for admissions to various professional degree courses in the state of Kerala, India. It is conducted by the Office of the Commissioner of Entrance Exams run by the Government of Kerala.
KEAM 2019 – Kerala CEE has declared the merit list after the final calculation of scores based on KEAM 2019 marks and 10+2 marks. The rank list is made available in the form of a PDF file at cee.kerala.gov.in. The selected candidates whose name appears in the merit list have to appear for the counselling process next. KEAM 2019 was conducted on May 02-03, 2019. KEAM is a state level examination, for admission in UG engineering, agriculture, forestry, veterinary, fisheries, architecture, and pharmacy courses. KEAM 2019 Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must fulfil the Eligibility Criteria set by the authorities to appear for the exam. The detailed eligibility criteria for KEAM is given below: -
Nationality: The candidate must be the citizen of India.
Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders can also apply for the examination.
Age Limit: To satisfy the eligibility criteria for KEAM 2019, a candidate should be of minimum of 17 years of age as on December 31, 2019. There is no upper age limit.
Nativity: For the purpose of admission, there is made on the distinction of three types of categories-.
Domicile: All candidates with the domicile of Kerala are grouped as Keralites for the eligibility purpose. Children of All India Services Officers who are posted under the cadre of Kerala will also be part of this group. In the latter case, a certificate of proof of service for parents in Kerala needs to be presented.
Non – Keralite 1: Candidate living in Kerala for at least 5 years in the study period of 12 years will be part of NK 1 category.
The children of non-Keralite parents who have studied twelfth class will also be part of this category, if either of the parents is in defense services or employee of Government of India.
Non – Keralite 2: All the candidates who do not belong to either of the above two categories will be part of NK 2 category.
Candidates belonging to this category will have the eligibility to get admission in the engineering courses through management quota seats in self – financing colleges controlled by the Government.
Qualifying Examination: Candidates seeking admission in engineering courses must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
Candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM subjects. It is necessary to score 50% marks in mathematics individually.
Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination are also eligible to apply. Provided, they must pass the examination with the above-mentioned criteria in order to be eligible to take admission through KEAM 2019.
KEAM 2019 Counselling Procedure
The counselling of KEAM 2019 has commenced. Candidates have to register and fill their required choices to participate in the counselling process. Allotment of seats will be done as per the merit and preferences of the candidates. The given steps can be followed by the candidates for the KEAM 2019 counselling process:
Counselling Registration
Firstly, the candidates are required to register for the counselling process. The registration can be done in online mode. The candidates have to log in using their KEAM 2019 application number and password. After logging in, the candidates will have to submit their key number and password. The candidates will be able to access the key number (16 digit alphanumeric code) from the security card.
Filling of Options
After the candidates are logged in, they will be able to access the list of participating colleges and their corresponding courses. From the list, the candidates will be required to select their preferred colleges and courses. It must be noted that the selection should be as per the order of preference. Maximum number of choices should be filled by the candidates for more chances of allotment. Click on “Save” to save the selected choices.
Candidates will also have the option of filtering their choices through the edit button. After adding or dropping choices as per preference, the candidates can submit the form.
Review and Print Out
The candidates are requested to review their choices after submission. Finally, a print out of the filled options have to be taken out for future reference.
Trial Allotment
The trial allotment of KEAM 2019 was conducted by the authorities for the registered candidates. The main purpose of trial allotment, is to let the candidates know which colleges and courses they will be likely be allotted to as per their choice filling and merit. The seats allotted in trial allotment is not final.
KEAM 2019 Seat Allotment
The authorities will be conducting the seat allotment of KEAM 2019 as a Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). Candidates will be allotted as per the candidate’s merit, preference of colleges and courses and availability of seat. The selected candidates will have to download their allotment memo which will consist details regarding their college and the amount of fee to be paid. The required fee has to be paid at the CEE account in specified head post offices or through online mode (debit card/credit card/net banking). Confirmation of admission has to be done by reporting to the allotted institute. Verification of documents will also be done at the time of admission. The authorities will conduct four rounds of KEAM 2019 seat allotment.
